Another murder case filed against 43 Awami League members in Sylhet Sylhet: Another case has been filed against former mayor of Sylhet City Corporation Anwaruzzaman, two MPs and 43 Awami League activists. The case was filed at the Kotwali Model Police Station under the Murder and Explosives Act by Md. Abdus Salam Tipu, son of the deceased Mahmud Ali of Khujgirpur village in Balaganj, in connection with the attack and firing on a procession of BNP and its affiliated organizations in Sylhet. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station Md. Ziaul Haque confirmed this information. He said that in addition to former mayor Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury, 43 people including Awami League Central Organizing Secretary and former MP Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel, Sylhet District Awami League Organizing Secretary and Sunamganj-1 MP Advocate Ranjit Sarkar have been named as accused in the case.
